Soudotec EcoPassiv Stainless Steel Passivating Agent
EcoPassiv is an extremely effective decontamination and passivating agent for cleaning free iron particles on all stainless steel surfaces. This product was developed to meet the passivating norms ASTM A 967-05. Formulated water base and a performing organic acid mix, surfactants and corrosion inhibitors, EcoPassiv has a very weak toxicity and replaces effectively the nitric acid base passivation agents.

Typical Applications:
Decontamination and passivation of stainless steel pieces. reservoirs, pipe structures, furniture, work surfaces, architecture elements, etc. Can also be used to clean rust on stainless steel
Instructions For Use (Passivation):
- Degrease the surface to be passivated with FSH Welding BlueClean alkaline degreaser, let work for 10 to 20 minutes and rinse well with lots of water (this step is very important in achieving an optimal passivation)
- Apply EcoPassiv on the surface to be passivated for 60 minutes at work piece temperature (20 to 25°C) and assure that the surface remains wet during the extent of passivation (adding as needed every 10 to 15 minutes)
- Rinse with water
- If you are using 400 series stainless steel, neutralize the surface after passivation with FSH Welding BlueClean
Instructions For Use (Cleaning Rust):
- Apply pure or diluted on surface to be cleaned
- Let work for 10 to 20 minutes
- Use a mechanical agitation ( brush, rag or other) as needed
- Rinse with water
